ATech Training - Workshops
ATech’s initial workshop was conducted in 2002. Since then 2 or 3 workshops have been offered each year up through 2006. The workshops have always been all expenses paid and will continue to be in the future. We will be offering the original ATech Invitational Workshop in an updated version plus a new equipment specific workshop. The workshop is open to any Automotive Instructor interested in developing learner centered teaching techniques and practicing “Structured Skill Development”. This is a three day “Hands On” workshop where the participants will learn practical skills in electrical/electronic circuit troubleshooting. The workshop is for any automotive instructor that is interested in perfecting their skills in electricity, electrical troubleshooting, OBD II diagnosis and developing new learner- centered teaching techniques and the practice of “Structured Skill Development”.
The ATech Virtual SET Trainer is used to emphasize series circuit behavior. The ATech Engine Performance trainer will be used to present real world PCM circuit faults that the attendees will troubleshoot with a DMM. The ATech GM OBD II trainer is used for the study of OBD II diagnostics. The attendee will perform actual drive cycles and observe the Monitors with an Auto Tap Scan Tool. The Auto Tap will be used to analyze Mode 6 data and perform Bi-Directional control activity. As a final evaluation there will be a troubleshooting contest in which the winner will receive the “Top Gun” award.
ATech Trainer Instructor Workshop
This workshop, also a three day workshop, is for Automotive Instructors that are already using or are going to begin using ATech Trainers in their classrooms and shops. This “Hands On” workshop will address the operation and instructional characteristics of the following Trainers:1800 Electrical and Electronic Trainer System with Computer Based Instruction and the traditional based instruction; 3600 Engine Control System with 3610, 3620 and 3630 Computer Based Instruction; The ATech Smarter Car Boards and courseware; The ATech Instructor Management Program and the ATech OBD II Trainer. Emphasis is placed on instruction techniques by creating a learner centered learning environment. The final evaluation will be to actually set up your own classroom management system.
